I’m driving to North Platte, Nebraska and I need a last minute room just for tonight, lots of big chains there, anyone know where i can get a coupon or a deal for just ONE night?

What’s The Best Way To Get Good Last Minute Deals On Vacations?

I want to go on a one week vacation the second week in august. I’m having a hard time deciding where, because my original plans fell through. I heard you can sometimes get really good deals if you book something the last minute.
Has anyone ever done this before ?
Is there a good website?
I checked out lastminutetravel.com, it seems to have some cool stuff.
It’s me and my girlfriend and we are looking to spend less than $1000 each on flight and hotel.
Give me some suggestions !

Last Minute Hotel Reservation – High End Hotels?

I have been using those “Last Minute Hotel Deals” sites, as well as priceline.com and get a room at decent hotels.
However, I never see 4 or 5 Star hotels (such as Ritz Carlton or Mandarin Oriental) have their rooms listed on those sites. I think there must be a pricing policy that prohibits them from advertising on those sites, but at the same time, isn´t it better for them to have some paying guests, instead of having empty rooms?
Does anyone know any websites that lists rooms at higer-end hotels?

It Seems Like The Best Hotel Deals Are The “last Minute Deals”??

We’re planning on getting away for the Labor Day weekend and I’m just wondering if it would be smart or stupid to wait to look into getting hotel reservations. I’ve looked around a little bit and the rates are ridiculous right now, but it seems like the “last minute deals” that sites like Expedia and stuff advertise are really low….
So my question is would it be better to wait or do you think I’ll be SOL because there won’t be anything available at all?

Uh Oh!!! Help Pleasae!!!!! Last Minute Deal!!!?

I know Valentines is tomorrow BUT I was going to celebrate it this weekend coming up and rent a small cabin for just me and my man and do the whole dinner and decoration thing. BUT he just called me and said his parents already invited us to go to Vegas with them and that everything is paid for and he really wants to go because you couldnt get a better deal (which he is right) BUT I have bought all this stuff already for this weekend coming up. Does anyone have ANY ideas for what I can do??? Should I rent a hotel room near the house so we can still have our alone time??? This just totally threw me off!

Anyone Have A Copy Of The Wsj Article From A Few Days Ago About The Last Minute Hotel Deals? And The Websites?

There was an article in the wall street journal i think in the travel section last week (5/22/07-5/25/07) about websites that advertise and sell the excess hotel rooms at the last minute from expensive chains that are under occupancy or during off peak times?
There were maybe 2-3 websites I wanted to keep and I mistakenly threw out the article.
