From the reviews I’ve read, the rooms are small, I know that much. Me, my parents and my 12 year old sister will be staying in one room with a double bed, and apparently their beds are awesome. The price was 179 USD per night, which because it’s a 15-20 minute walk to Times Square and all the major attractions are within a mile, I think it’s average, not the greatest deal, but not so bad right?
The only problem I’ve read in reviews is the area. I’m a bit afraid because the last time I went, I was 8 and now I’m 25, so I have no clue about areas…it’s apparently in the Garment district, so anybody know how safe that area is exactly? Is it livable for 2 nights…I can’t afford anything to ritzy or fancy because I’m on a low budget, but anyone know about this area? It’s 341 west on 36th street? I already booked it, so I’m hoping I get some somewhat positive reassurance :S
Also, if anybody’s stayed at that hotel, any advice or comments? I’ve literally read over 200 reviews, and most were good, but I’m still not sure…I live in Ottawa, Canada, so going to NY is kind of a big deal.
Also, any suggestions of must-see spots with families especially and discount shopping anyplace?
Greatly appreciate all the answers Thanks!

We are taking a trip and there are 3 of us that need a total of 2 beds – it is much cheaper if you say there are only 2 people — how can they really know if a third one is staying too? In a large hotel I think it is hard to keep track of everyone and no one would notice – there are still 2 beds in there…Couldn’t we just say the last person joined us last minute long after the reservation was made and we didn’t think about it? What could/would happen? Anyone deal with this before??
thanks –
We will most likely still tell them 3 people — but i was just wondering…
4 friends & I are going to NY 10/30 to 11/5 for the NY Phil-a-thon, a concert series at the Nokia theater. All 5 of us are around 25 years old, & easy going hippies.
We need a place to stay, info on which airport, and how we can keep our trip at low cost. Looking at websites and reviews aren’t really helping.
How cold will it be during that time?
Is it busier or more expensive because of the dates we are going on?
Will we get better deals if we book in advance or wait last minute?
What else is going on during Halloween and Day of the Dead?
Which airport do you recommend so we don’t have to sacrifice too much money on getting into NY or a hotel?
Thanks for your help!

If I don’t care where I go and can leave at last minutes notice on boxing day from london for up to 2 weeks (don’t really mind how long/short). How can I get the best deal. Surely they have random extra seats on flights that would be really cheap but they wouldn’t know till very soon before?
I am planning a last minute trip to Myrtle Beach leaving tomorrow and I found a hotel I wanted to stay at. Could/would I get a better rate if I just walked in, or should I go ahead and make the reservations? I was reading some reviews of some hotels and I saw a few comments that said “We used their walk in rate and got a great deal”, etc. I know I would run the risk of not finding vacancy, but would I get a better rate?
its for the end of August trip…any last-minute-deals you know and heard of? Please send me some links…yes i already tried Travelocity, orbitz.
thanks

Hi there,
I am looking for a cheap hotel (under $200) Downtown Chicago, I would prefer the Loop, Magnificent Mile, or Theater District. Any recommendations?
Any site that has last-minute deals? (I am traveling this Friday-Saturday)
