So I’ve got this wedding to go to in Las Vegas on June 13 and I put it off until the last minute to book my flight. Stupidly I did priceline Pick your own price and paid $113. good deal right? except the ticket was for arrival 6/13 at 10PM and departure 6/15 6AM. Anyway, long story short, I don’t want to pay an extra night hotel on Sat so I’m planning on landing and heading directly to a party somewhere. My questions – 1. I’m 28, traveling alone, want to be safe but have lots of fun. Where should I go keeping in mind I’m going directly from the airport without a hotel room. 2. Is there a way to change and leave my luggage at the bell desk of the hotel without actually having a room? 3. Haven’t booked a hotel yet but looking at mid-strip around $60-$70 for 6/14, any ideas?
Serious answers only please. Thanks
Go to this site and use their system to find a room in the middle of the strip. When you arrive you can leave your bags at the bag check at the hotel you are staying. Then you are free to enjoy the middle of the strip. It is hopping all night long. Since you aren’t actually staying Saturday night that will save you a bundle. You can get Ballys for about the price you want to pay.
Also, I’d take a look at some promos. Flamingo and Sahara are good places to crash, but they’re definitely on the low end of quality.
I’d look at some of the promo deals you can find online. You can get some really good rates on some good strip hotels.
Check out Vegas Promo Guide; you’ll be able to check out lots of different rates on the night you’re staying.
Google for up to date info on Vegas..
Find a man and stay at his hotel after you party
Your Best bet would be to stick with some of the more Major hotels within the Strip. Imperial Palace might be in your price range and they are located within the center of the strip. It is asian themed which is a nice change of pace from some of the other hotels.
My biggest recommendation for you would be the Flamingo though. It is about in the area you are looking for, and the facilities there are very nice. You can leave your luggage with them (we have done so in the past). Only problem is I do not know if they are in your price range. Expedia is having a 24 hour sale today so you may be able to grab a good deal. Check it out.
The biggest problem is that you may not realize how long you will actually be waiting to get into a hotel room if you don’t book Saturday night. Sundays are always the busiest days for hotel check-ins in Vegas and since Saturday nights are almost always sold out, you won’t get into your room until 3pm, 4pm, maybe as late as 5pm on Sunday at some hotels. Don’t assume they will try to make an exception for you – early check-ins on Sunday simply do not exist in Vegas.
The bottom line is that your “late night out” will actually end up being like 15-20 hours long. If you have been up since Saturday morning at home, you are looking at being awake for 30+ hours, and you will want to sleep all Sunday afternoon and night – which I assume is the wedding day.
It might be a fun adventure for the first 2-3 hours, but after hour 10 when the sun is fully up and people are enjoying Sunday brunch while you are sitting in the lobby, you will start to regret your decision. By hour 20 you will wish you were dead. If you somehow make it to the wedding ceremony at all, you will not even be able to keep your eyes open for more than 2 seconds at a time.
My advice would be get something – anything – for Saturday night. Motel 6 if you have to. Just having a quiet place to sleep from 3am-11am will make all the difference in the world to you on Sunday.

If you are staying at Sahara for the first night, I would recommend taking a cab straight there from the airport, so you can drop off your stuff and maybe change or freshen up. From there I would take a cab down to Encore, because that would be the cheapest cab ride to get down to where the nice places are at. You can walk through Encore to Wynn and on to Palazzo and Venetian. If your idea of fun is nightclubs, Encore has XS, Wynn has Tryst and Blush, Palazzo has Lavo, and Venetian has TAO. Across the street you have Treasure Island with Christian Audigier, and then Mirage with Jet and Revolution Lounge.
If you are not into clubs, you can just walk through the casinos, maybe play some slots or get a drink at a bar and people-watch.
When you are ready to wind down, just take a cab back to Sahara to crash for the night.
If you are doing your homework for hotels that is good, and seeing you got a rate at $45. then call the hotel directly and negotiate a rate for both nights rather than having to change hotel and the hassle that goes along with it. I am sure if you explain your situation to the hotel they can work with you, after all there are lots of freebies in vegas.. why wouldn’t they want you as a guest. Bell desk will check your bags if you are going to stay at the hotel.. take a shuttle to the hotel it is less expensive. remember that you are not going to check in after you get to vegas.. that is tough to stay up all night if you are not use to it. by 5 am after jetlag and a few drinks you will be beat.. best advice is get your room.. and check in.. if safety is your concern.. then a few extra dollars will ensure that.. rather than not do it.. just sound advice to a single woman..
