OK we all see these ads on TV about getting cheap last minute hotel deals. Well I cant seem to find any of these deals and was wondering if anyone knows any tricks or tips to getting the best rates. I am going on a weekend stay in Savannah and everything I see on the low rate websites is just as much as if I booked through the hotel. Anybody out there have any suggestions?
I know what you mean, whenever I check priceline, hotwire, or the other websites that say they have cheaper rates, i always find them to really be more expensive than booking from the hotel directly.
What I do when i want a low rate on a hotel is constantly, probably obsessively, watch the hotel’s rates and as soon as i see that they are cheaper than usual i book my room. Not all, but most hotels will give you the cheaper rate if rates drop again after you book it, you would have to call to ask for them to do this though.
If you don’t care what hotel you stay at you could try Priceline name your own price. I did this when going to Newport, RI for 2 nights and i got a room that was $240 a night on the hotel website for only 90$ a night.
A hotel rate comparison website is usually good since they will show you the prices of the hotels from the different travel sites on one screen. That way you can see what is the cheapest rate. Finding secret specials rates are sometimes hard to find! Good luck
you could try to call the hotel and ask if they offer special rates from your employer. wal-mart offers rates at la quinta, so just ask. usually, you will get a better price if you call the hotel.
go to http://www.bookme.com/hotels.php . It’s the only site you need to go to. you can compare prices on all the travel sites in just a few minutes. good luck.
Call hotels and ask if they have a good offer or compare booking websites I use http://www.hotelbyhotel.net it saves me time to find the best rate hotel
