As there is a holiday going on in Singapore (Hari Raya), some of the hotels in Singapore are actually having surcharges on top of their normal hotel rates.
Last min discounts is highly unlikely especially for 5 star hotels and the hotel room bookings will be very tight so my advice to you is to consider lower star hotels or go ahead but prepare to pay slightly higher than usual.

I will be there on 22nd till 26th and will be at the Meridian along Orchard Road. It is rather good, I have stayed there before and it is near to all facilities and a subway. They do discounts but you will have to hurry. Google them.
